First Inhouse Living Wall in India by ELT India Enterprise
The first ELT living wall of India is about 15’ wide x 20’ tall indoor wall, comprising of 3 climatic zones depending on light intensity. There is variation in light intensity from 12000 lux near the skylight to 170 lux below the staircase. As providing the required number of artificial lights was also difficult, selection of plants proved to be a challenging job. Basic concept behind arranging the plants is merging of species to give natural look, keeping in mind the continuation of light zones, without any grid like appearance. As this wall is next to a hanging staircase, space for installation & handling was really limited. A few panels have to be cut & welded to meet the site conditions. This has been achieved without hampering the irrigation & drainage. Though this was the first project for ELT India Enterprise, the effect was achieved to the complete satisfaction of not only client but also architect. The project is going to prove major milestone in the history of Indian Landscape & interior designs
